That’s because both rubber and fibreglass are not only waterproof materials, they they have no seals like traditional felt roofing which eventually pull apart as temperatures rise and fall between hot summer and freezing winter temperatures causing the felt strips to expand and contract and eventual fail allowing water to seep in.
